SUMMER APPLES

TRANSPARENT Harvest Date: Late July- Our first apple to be harvested. Transparents have a tart flavor and short storage life. They are outstanding for pies.

SUNRISE Harvest Date: Early August- A new variety released from the Summerland Research Station. Unique stripy red/orange color with great flavor and light texture.

AKANE Harvest Date: Early August- A highly colored apple of Japanese origin with unique flavor and crisp texture.

SUMMER RED Harvest Date: Mid August- This is an attractive apple with good flavor; slightly tart and surprisingly crisp for a summer apple. Summer Red was developed at Summerland Research Station and is a cross between McIntosh and Golden Delicious.
