Once again, students from across the Okanagan have an opportunity to observe and experience first-hand, Science in its purest form. Davison Orchards continues its commitment to educating young people about farming in the Okanagan. Our 60-acre fruit and vegetable farm provides your students with a new appreciation for where their food comes from and how it is produced. Over 70 years of experience spanning 4 generations has qualified Davison Orchards as one of the most progressive farms in British Columbia.

All tours will include a tractor-pulled apple bin ride (Johnny Popper), an educational talk (see below) in our "Outdoor Classroom", a gift certificate for a free Appleanche, use of the play and picnic area, as well as farm animals to visit.

Frequently Asked About Details:

Length of tour:	60 minutes (the picnic and play area is available for lunches and snacks)
Tour Days:	Monday to Friday
Tour Times:	9:15am, 10am, 10:45am, 11:30am, & 1:15pm
Tour Cost:	$5 per student and siblings (includes GST). Teachers and one parent helper visit for FREE while other parents are charged $2 for Apple Train ride.
Payment:	One cheque made payable to Davison Orchards is greatly appreciated. If paying with cash, pleas sort coins.
Rain:	Davison Orchards will proceed with the tour but reserves the right to substitute a walking tour for Apple Train ride for safety reasons. Please have the kids dress weather appropriate.
Minimum Group:	10 children or flat fee of $70. Davison Orchards reserves the right to combine group in group size or time constraints warrant it. Please schedule tour 24 hours in advance.
Arrival Time:	Please arrive 10 minutes before scheduled tour time.
Parking:	Buses are welcome to park in lower lot and cars are asked to park in upper parking lot…watch for signs!

Bees, Blossoms and Planting Time Tour (May-June)

Age appropriate tour offerings will be taken into account for K-2; 3-6; and grade 7.

Explore the world of bees, blossoms and pollination.  Students will tour out into the orchard on the Johnny Popper Apple Bin Train to see first hand the diversity and interactions between plants and animals and their environment.  Students will also get an opportunity to sample the Orchards Famous fresh pressed apple juice as well as have a visit with the farm animals.

Apple Tour (September-October)

• Johnny Popper Train ride through the orchard - New Displays On Route!
• Fruit picking experience (apple bag with approx. 2 lbs apples)
• Walk through fruit packing, storage and processing facilities
• Educational talk focusing on apples (pruning, pollination, harvesting and handling)
• Visit with farm animals
• Unlimited access to the new play area "Broken Plow Kids Corral." This includes straw maze and straw jump, giant sand box, corn tee pee, play jail, duck races, trikes (ages 2 - 5), corn bins, mazes and more
• Coloring sheet and coupon to take home (K-3)

Pumpkin Tour (October)

• Johnny Popper train ride to the pumpkin patch to pick their own pumpkin - New Displays On Route!
• Short educational talk focusing on pumpkins
• Coloring sheet to take home
• Unlimited access to the new play area "Broken Plow Kids Corral." This includes straw maze and straw jump, giant sand box, corn tee pee, play jail, duck races, trikes (ages 2 - 5), corn bins, mazes and more
• Visit with farm animals

COST: $7.00 PER CHILD (Teachers and one Parent Helper are no charge) AND $2.00 PER ADULT FOR JOHNNY POPPER APPLE TRAIN RIDE OR $7.00 FOR RIDE AND PUMPKIN/APPLES
