Apples are the perfect fruit. Okay, I might be a bit biased, but seriously… They are healthy and packed full of nutrition such as being an excellent source of fiber, vitamin C and antioxidants. No wonder people say, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Apples are packable, portable, store well and are oh so versatile! When I step back and think of all the uses for apples on our farm alone I am blown away. Of course, they are amazing fresh as a snack, but we also use apples in our baking: apple cinnamon buns, deep dish apple pies, apple muffins, apple slice, and Nana’s apple bread, to name a few.
